Train fire at Gulbarga caused after couple immolate themselves: Police
Railway Police claimed to have solved the mystery behind the October 16 train fire at Gulbarga station, which led to death of two persons, maintaining that train caught fire after a couple set themselves ablaze in its toilet.

RAILWAY POLICE today claimed that the train at Gulbarga station caught fire after a couple set themselves on fire in one of the toilets. Police also claimed that the extreme step was taken by the couple, after their families didn't agree for their marriage.

The couple used to meet in the railway station everyday, and on the day when the incident took place, the boy bought a petrol can with him. They both locked themselves in the train's toilet and put themselves on fire.

“When they both thought that they can' get married, so they planned to end their life. On 16th October the boy called the girl to the railway station, before that he went to a petrol pump and bought petrol in a can. They both decided to commit suicide in the train,” said Srikantappa B.S., DIG Railways.

The name of the boy is said to be Sarna Appa and he was an autorickshaw driver and the girl was an intermediate first year student. The girl was beaten by her family members just 20 days before this incident, reported nnis.
