Train stunt: An act of dare devilry or free travel?
A video has been making rounds in the virtual world in which two young men are seen skidding on platform while holding on to a running train and high five'ing' pylons. Can this act be termed as dare devilry or just free travel?
THE TRAIN stunt, which has been doing the rounds across social networking sites has now caught the attention of Indian railway officials who have called for a clamp down of the insane act with immediate effect.
The video shot in suburban Mumbai shows two young men, skidding on the platform with a firm grasp on the handrail of the rail bogie. As the train picks up speed, the men are seen slapping the pylon and running on the ledge simultaneously. The video shot between Mumbai’s Cotton Green and Reay Road station seems like an act to impress the ladies travelling in the ladies-only compartment of the local train.
Although local officials have requested the daredevils to stop this act before any one of them slips and dies in a violent manner. An official was quoted saying by a UK-based media house that the man had risked his life for a few seconds of fame. His colleague was quoted saying by the same organisation that such a stunt was dangerous and an insane act of rashness, which nobody should replicate.Although the stunt does not look like an act of free travel, which is a common sight in India, if caught by the officials, those found guilty are liable to pay a fine of Rs 500 or can even land themselves in jail for three months.null
