Tribal youth killed in Malkangiri by Maoists
Idma was killed at a spot near the special police operation group camp deployed for anti-Naxal operations. Sources told that the people living under undivided Koraput district were spending sleepless nights in fear of both Naxalities and the police.

A TRIBAL youth, Odey Idma, who was a former ward member belonging to “Koya” tribe of Kottalavada under Kalimela Block, Malkangiri district in Orissa state was brutally killed by alleged maoists, who had suspected him to be a police informer on Saturday, September 26.

SI Subrat Bhoi has confirmed that he has no information of the killing. When contacted, the local Sarpanchas under Kalimela Block confirmed the killing and told that the dead body was kept very near to Kalimela Block on the way to Podia Block. They also told that the police are not in a position to go over there to recover the dead body out of fear.
 
Bhoi told about the Godavari Operation to eliminate Naxlites. He said, “We are not having operation like Godavari or air dropping explosive materials in Naxal dominated villages”, as it is not possible to identify who is a naxal and who is a civilian.

Sources close to the police officials told this correspondent that the people living under undivided Koraput district were spending sleepless nights out of fear of both the Naxalites and the police.
 
The Koraput Bar Association President Nihar Ranjan Pattnaik urged the state and National Civil Liberty activists to visit the undivided Koraput district and send their recommendations to the government to save the fundamental rights of human beings.
