Telangana Rashtra Samiti activists today attacked the convoy of Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
TELANGANA RASHTRA Samiti activists today attacked the convoy of Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He was on his way to Mahbubnagar in the Telangana region to express solidarity with farmers on the fertilizer scarcity being faced by them.
TRS activists hurled stones at Telugu Desam Party chief's convoy and chanted slogans against Naidu and in support of Telangana. TRS activists demanded that Naidu and his party should clear stand on the formation of a separate Telangana State.
According to the sources, Naidu was unharmed, but some TDP workers and a few media personnel were injured and one of the SUVs in the convoy was damaged. The protesters had also gathered at Parigi MLA Harishwar Reddy's residence and had raised slogans, when he stopped for breakfast.
Later, the Leader of Opposition continued his tour of Kosgi in Mahbubnagar district under tight security. Telangana Rashtra Samiti is demanding separate Telengana state, which is spread over 10 northern districts of Andhra Pradesh from the last few years.
