Trump government headed for second shutdown in less than a month
The United States might be witnessing another shut down soon as the Congress is coming nearer and nearer to a point where it will have no more funds left.

If this happens, it would be the second shutdown of the Trump government. In the United States both the Senate and House need to pass a two-year budget deal. The deal was supposed to be passed by midnight of this Thursday. But with chances of passing reducing day by day, the Trump government might be headed for a second shutdown in a month's time.

The lapse could be because of Senator Rand Paul, the Kentucky Republican, who has demanded a vote on putting in place budget caps. He warned that if the citing doesn't take place, he will delay the voting which effectively means that the government will have to face another shutdown.

The budget caps that Senator Paul has demanded were actually put in place by the Budget Control Act 2011. Whether the demand will get enough votes or not is a different question altogether as the urgent need for the United States government is to manage to avoid another shutdown.

Senator Paul has been opposing the panned boost to military and has been against budget deficits. He has openly criticised US government's broad military presence around the world as well as projects at home that he claims are wasteful.

Criticising his own party, Paul said, "I can't in all good honesty, in all good faith, just look the other way because my party is now complicit in the deficits." He also said that what the Senate is trying to pass off as 'bipartisanship' is actually 'recklessness'.

Speaking to the Fox News, Paul said while he is not in favour of a government shutdown, he is also not in favour of borrowing "a million dollars in a minute".
