Recently, former RJD member RamKripal left the party and shook hands with BJP over his discomfort with Lalu Yadav daughter Meesa name being announced from Patliputra constituency. Same happened in Congress when its ace and one of the oldest member Jagdambika Pal left the party owing to his complain that the party no longer acknowledges the efforts of senior party members. Crashes of thought and ideologies are no new to these political parties. But in these there is one party that seems to overshoot the limit of discomfort for its members.
Bhartiya Janta Party on Saturday announced Modi named to contest from Veranasi, a constituency where BJP Ganga flows on the name of Murli Manohar Joshi. Murli has earlier showed his willingness to contest from the land of shiva. The gloom is not only for Mr Joshi, Lalji Tandon name is next on the list of the leaders unhappy with the current positioning of BJP candidates. Lalji Tandon core constituency is Lucknow and it is note worthy that Lalji is also the custodian of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s legacy in the city of Nawab but this year BJP president Rajnath Singh forwarded his name.
The line of dissatisfaction is drawn to North also, where former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has already warned that he will not leave his constituency and will not contest from any other than Amritsar, but it looks like no one in the party bothered to lend any ears to the king of Punjab; Arun Jaitley’s name was announced from Punjab. The tough tussle within the party surfaced also during the times when BJP got (MODI)fied and announced Narendra Modi as its Prime Ministerial candidates.
Many big-wigs like Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, LK Advani who are key players at the national level were irked by the party’s supremo call to give the coveted status of PM candidate to Gujarat state chief minister Narendra Modi. Sometime back a known to be a close aid of Modi, journalist Madhu Kishwar made a startling revelation that there is a group of senior leader inside BJP that are against the PM candidature of Modi. Kishwar claimed that this group wants that BJP should get 160 seats in the coming poll so that in the absentia of absolute majority the party will cobble the coalition with other parties augmenting the chances of some other member to become the prime minister.
In the coming polls, the anti-incumbency factor of congress and the high hopes from Modi will definitely benefit the megalomaniacs BJP. Sensing the advantage of the current (Modi)fied BJP and despite the crashes within the party, BJP is all set to go reckless and the party is cheering darr ki agee jeet hai.
