Tum Mile : A strict no watch!
Tum Mile is supposed to be set in the backdrop of the Mumbai floods in 200, but sadly the film does no justice to the struggle that the Mumbai people faced. Boasting of a star cast of Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan, I expected better.
WHAT EXACTLY director Kunal Deshmukh was trying to portray in his latest film Tum Mile is anyone’s guess. The film hit the theatres today (November 13), and I made the mistake of going for the first show. Believe me, there were a 100 better ways I could have spent my time at.

It would have been better if the director had just stuck to the story line of yet another Emraan Hashmi love-break up-love movie. Instead there are a few disjointed scenes thrown in of torrential rain and that’s it. The love story has the usual clichéd stuff of the girl wanting to marry and the boy not agreeing; the boy being out of a job and living off his girlfriend and a steady loyal friend who for no reason is bumped off in the end.

The best part (if I need to find one) of the movie are the scenes in Cape Town, which is a good locale. The music can be called a saving grace though after some time all the Hashmi movie songs start to sound alike! Apart from that there is very little to hold your interest. The Mumbaikars are definitely not going to be very happy with the scarce attention paid to what could have been a very powerful theme. With the Titanic like scenes thrown in, the movie on the whole is a sad testament to the horror that the 2005 rains brought to Mumbai.
