Tusu festival celebrated in Jharkhand
'Tusu festival' is one of the important festivals in rural area of Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. This festival is also known as Tusu Parv or Tusu Porov.

'Tusu' is a harvest festival held during the winter season. The Tribal people make idols of Goddess Tusu and worship her.

The key feature of festival include welcoming the harvest season by folk singing and dance. After the end of Makar Sankranti, people immerse the idols of Tusu goddess.

Badalagda Tusu Committee, Manjahri, Jharkhand, India hosted 3 day festival from   13th January 2017 to 15th January 2017 at Badalagda.

The committee member hosted many sports, cultural events and Tusu idol competition during the festival.

According to a local source, the committee members are hosting the festival since 1952.

On 15th January 2017, Madhu Koda, the Ex-Chief Minister of Jharkhand, hosted goose race in the evening and distributed prizes among the winners of different sports and cultural events. The main attraction of the festival was 'Matka Phod' competition and gathering of idol of Goddess Tusu.

Such festivals have been getting successful due to the efforts of Tusu committee member of Badalagda.
