TV actress Sanjeeda Sheikh in legal trouble: Domestic violence case registered against her
Television star Sanjeeda Sheikh is in news and for all wrong reasons this time. Sources claim that the actress along with her family has been slapped with a case relating to domestic violence.

The popular actress who stars in few of the prime time shows like Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Ka, Kyamath and Ishq Ka Rang Safed is in the middle of a legal controversy. A domestic violence case has been filed by the 32-year-old actress' sister-in-law Zakerabanu Zakir Hussain Bagban (wife of Sanjeeda's brother) under section-125 of CrPC.

"They often demanded money from my father and would beat me up. My husband is alcoholic, a drug addict and is also involved in match-fixing," she said, as reported by Mumbai Mirror.

Zakerabanu also complained that she was beaten up on May 27 by Sanjeeda's family while she was on phone with her father. They started shouting at her and hitting her up saying that they wanted her out of their Mumbai office. After the incident, she left the house and went to stay with her parents at Ahmadabad and had to be admitted to a hospital.

"It was the final straw when Anas raised his hand on me in the presence of my mother and sister in their Mumbai home. I was hospitalised after that in Ahmedabad.  I was told at the time of our marriage that he is in the construction business but he is mostly home," told the 22-year-old.

Immediately after being discharged, she filed an FIR at Sarkhej Police Station as reported by Mumbai Mirror. The family asserted that Zakerabanu did not have a very congenial relation with her father. They also alleged that her father had an orthodox attitude and that triggered the problem.

The petition filed by Sanjeeda's family also narrated that the day when the incident took place; the actress was not at home.

However, Sanjeeda Sheikh was granted interim relief on Aug 30 by Ahmedabad court. Sanjeeda's lawyer Sunny Punamiya while talking to Mumbai Mirror said, "The Hon'ble Court has passed an order in favour of my client by stating that the investigating agency should not take any coercive steps against her. In other words, the Hon'ble Court accepted our submission that the FIR is baseless, bad in jurisdiction and merely filed to harass my client."

Sanjeeda Sheikh is currently seen as Kamini Mathur in the show Love Ka Hai Intezaar.
