TV journalist Anuj Chaudhary who was shot at outside his home in Ghaziabad survives
In another attack on a journalist, a reporter working with a TV channel was shot at by unidentified men on Sunday evening. The incident took place in Ghaziabad's Kavi Nagar locality at about 7:00 pm.

The journalist identified as Anuj Chaudhary works with Hindi news channel Sahara Samay. As per reports, four to five bike-borne assailants fired at him while he was standing outside his house. Three bullets hit him, one in the right arm and two in the abdomen.

Chaudhary was rushed to Yashoda Hospital where he is undergoing treatment and his condition has been reported to be critical but stable. He had received threats earlier as well and had informed the police. Police had provided him protection by assigning a gunner to him. According to reports, Chaudhary had asked the policeman guarding him to go home as he was not planning to step out for the day.

Chaudhary is married to a BSP councillor. While police has suggested that it prima facie looks like a case of personal enmity but they have not ruled out possibility of a political rivalry behind being behind the attack. The police has gathered the CCTV footage and registered an FIR in the case. The police has formed four teams and a hunt to nab the accused has been launched but no arrests have been made as of now.

Attacks on journalists have been on the rise in the recent past. Recently, a journalist who had written against the sand mafia was mowed down by a truck in broad day light.
