THE INDIA Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) is going to organise the 29th edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2009 in New Delhi. IITF is the flagship event of ITPO held every year in Pragati Maidan from November 14 to 27.

The IITF showcases the developments of Indian economy in various sectors. While on the consumer sector, it serves to launch new brands and put on display a wide array of products, its business section attracts a large number of visitors from India and abroad. This year’s theme of the fair is “Export of services”.

The fair is organised every year with a purpose of giving a platform to Indian and foreign manufacturers, traders, exporters and importers, working on a wide range of products and services like textile, jute, coir, information technology, automobiles, drugs, telecommunication, sports, electronic products, processed food, confectionery, beverages, kitchen appliances, furniture, garments, home décor products, beauty and healthcare products, toys, engineering goods and the like.

This year, Thailand is the partner country of IITF and China is the focus country. 27 foreign countries, including Thailand and China are participating in this fair. Delhi is the partner state in this mega event.

Apart from this, the fair has been marked as a green event, where no plastic bags are allowed. Environment friendly bags would be available within Pragati Maidan. The fair zone is also declared as no smoking zone. This year, five days have been marked exclusively for business visitors.

The cultural shows from almost all parts of the country will be organised here. Theatres, dance, puppetry and music will be the main attractions in evenings. Further, the visitors to the fair can enjoy India’s varied cuisines in all days of the event.
