Twitter suspends official 'Pakistan Defence' account after DU student Kawalpreet Kaur alleges misuse of her morphed image
Pakistan Defence's official Twitter handle which had been using a morphed image to malign the image of India, was suspended on Saturday by the micro-blogging site.

Twitter suspended the verified account called 'Pakistan Defence' (@defencepk) on the complaint of a Delhi University (DU) student Kawalpreet Kaur.

Reportedly, the action was taken after the DU girl filed a complaint with the Delhi Police cyber cell about the misuse of her morphed picture. In her complaint, she said that her photograph holding a placard had been morphed and misused by Pak-based Twitter account.

In the original picture, the DU student can be seen holding a placard in her hands in front of Delhi's Jama Masjid that reads: "I am a citizen of India and I stand with secular values of our Constitution. I will write against communal mob lynching of Muslims in our country."

But in the photoshopped image, the original banner was changed by the verified Twitter handle of Pakistan, and read: "I am an Indian but I hate India, because India is a communal entity that has occupied nations like Nagas, Kashmiris, Manipuris, Hyderabad Junagadh, Sikkim, Mizoram, Goa."

As per the report, she had lodged a complaint against this fake image to the concerned officials, resulting in the micro-blogging site suspending the Pak-based Twitter account which had more than 300,000 followers.

"The account of @defencepk has been suspended by Twitter for posting my unverified and morphed pictures. Grateful to all who reported it in large numbers. The message of the picture shouldn't be lost in these dark times. No nation wants lynchings and killings. Only bigots want hate," she wrote a Facebook post as saying.
