Police acted timely to save a family from the clutches of criminals in the posh Palam Vihar locality of Gurgaon. Two criminals were shot dead by the police after they took a family hostage with criminal intent.

TWO CRIMINALS were shot dead by Gurgaon police in the posh Palam Vihar locality on Friday night. Police officials said that two members of a gang of four criminals were killed in an encounter after they took eight members of a family hostage in Palam Vihar.

All the family members including the two children were safely rescued by the police, which reached timely after one of the hostages managed to call the cops.

The criminals fired at the police after they were asked to release the family members, which retaliated resulting in the killing of two gangsters, while two of them managed to escape. Two country made pistols, a mobile and a knife was recovered from the two slain gangsters.

Police has launched a massive manhunt for the two criminals, who managed to evade the dragnet last night. Officials said that raids are being conducted at various places to nab the accused.
