Two days training workshop on School Environment Audit for Eco Clubs of Shimla held
The State Council for Science Technology & Environment, Shimla (H.P) organised a two-day training workshop on School Environment Audit for Eco clubs of Shimla town in technical collaboration with Centre for Science & Environment (CSE) under the Green School Programme at State Institute of Health & Family Welfare, Parimahal, Kasumpti.

The workshop concluded today. 20 Eco club schools of Shimla town participated in the training workshop.

The SCSTE Shimla has established 250 Eco clubs in each district of H.P. A total of 3000 Eco clubs have been established in the Schools and 93 Eco Clubs in the Colleges of the State.

In an effort to build-up environment consciousness in the young minds especially Eco club members, the State Council has started School Environmental Audit Scheme with the active participation of Eco club members in technical collaboration with Centre for Science & Environment, New Delhi under the Green School Programme.

The training workshop was inaugurated by Smt. Archana Sharma, Director-cum-Member Secretary (Department of Environment, Science & Technology, GoHP) and in her address she announced that the Eco club schools doing good work on environment audit would be rewarded with financial assistance as well as the best Eco club would visit Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi for expose the different models of water management and waste management etc.

The State Council will start the Green trophy award to encourage the eco-clubs of the State.
