The anganwadi center was allegedly allowed to be run by the administration in a dilapidated building which was six decades old. The children who lost their lives on Monday are Somanath Totala, Chiku Kandi, Sachin Ray, Ankit and Sonali Pradhan.

The Women and Child Welfare Development Commissioner-cum-Secretary Aarti Ahuja told the mediapersons that they have advised all the collectors in the state to review conditions of all the 71000 anganwadi centers functioning in the state and relocate them from unsafe ones. Ahuja has already circulated circular among all the district collectors in the state to complete the review at the earliest to avoid such type of incidents in future.
