Two NASA astronauts prepare to return to Earth after spending 168 days in space
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is about to complete yet another space expedition after conducting dozens of detailed space experiments which included orbiting the Earth 2688 times and witnessing the arrival and departure of eight different space ships.

Commander Alexander Misurkin of 'Expedition 54' team will be leading the fellow crew members Joe Acaba and Mark Vande Hei back to Earth today for a landing in the South Central Kazakhstan at 9.31 .pm EST. The trio has spent 168 days in space together and will be heading home as experienced space walkers.

Commander Misurkin and Joe Acaba have conducted one space walk each whereas Vande Hei conducted 4 spacewalks during their 168-day stint in space.

NASA TV will telecast all of the departure activities. The command changing ceremony happened on Monday 2:40 pm when commander Misurkin handed over the station control to cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov.
