Two security personnel killed in cross-border firing in Poonch
In another incident of cross-firing from across the border, two security personnel were killed while two others were injured along the Line of Control (LoC) when Pakistani forces fired at Indian posts.

The incident took place on Monday when a forward Indian post in Kerni in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district came under attack by the Pakistani army at 8:25 am. As per reports, the Pakistani troops used rockets and mortar shells to attack the Indian forward post. The Indian troops also resorted to firing in retaliation of the attack.

As per reports, four security personnel were injured in the firing including a head constable of Border Security Force (Prem Sagar), BSF Constable (Rajender Kumar), a JCO Naib subedar (Paramjit Singh) and a fourth trooper who is yet to be identified.

As per reports, the JCO and the BSF head constable were rushed to the Garrison Hospital in Poonch, where they succumbed to their injuries.

The Pakistani forces have time and again used firing on Indian posts as a cover to launch terrorists into India. April has already seen numerous instances of cease-fire violation in areas such as Poonch, Bhimbher Gali (BG) sector and Balakote. In one such instance, an army JCO was killed in an IED blast near LoC in Degwar area while he was patrolling the area.
