Two sides of 'Sach Ka Saamna'
The reality show Sach ka Saamna, is the desi version of Moment of Truth. It seems that the show will have a huge impact on people in India, unlike the case of other reality shows which focus more on entertainment rather that the truth.

I WAS really excited about the launch of Sach ka Saamna, the desi version of Moment of Truth. Going by the promos, it would challenge all those who had the guts to speak the truth in public.  After the first episode, I would say my expectations were met to some extent. I get the feeling that this show will make a huge impact on the Indian viewing audience because unlike other reality shows, this show focuses more on the truth, rather than entertainment.

Family breaker or family maker?
Unlike other reality shows, this one goes deep into personal matters which we would generally like to cover. Since the participants face the lie detector, there is no way they can cheat. If the truth turns out to be too bitter for the participants’ family, this is definitely going to be a big curse for the concerned family, friends, and even the participant. Consider the Vinod Kambli incident. Going by the media reports, Sach Ka Saamna may break the old friendship between Kambli and Tendulkar. It is another issue altogether that Kambli hasd denied anything of the sort will happen. Because, too often, a relationship that looks stable from the outside, breaks up after the bitter truth. Suppose someone believed that his/her spouse loved her/him very much but the lie detector ruled otherwise, this may create some problems between the couple. On the flip side, in the case of a struggling couple facing relationship misunderstandings, a positive revelation could serve to strengthen the relationship.

Learning from the experiences of others
From this show, we can learn from the experience others who may be int he same positions as ourselves. Sometimes we tend to feel that we are the only one suffering. This show wil reval to us the experiences of other people on the same issue, and how they dealt it. This will help us sort out our problems.

Challenge for the participants
Compared to some other shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati, I feel that if the participant is strong enough, then (s)he has a good chance of winning the full amount, assuming the lie detector works fine. In KBC, if the participant could not arrive at the answer, then it would be tough for him/her to proceed. But in Sach Ka Saamna, all the answers will be known to the participant. The only thing that stands in his way, is his willigness to be open. It may be really awkward to answer a very personal question. But if the participant is strong enough, then s/he should have little problem telling the truth.

Like everything else in this world, this show has both its good and bad side.
