Two UP cops hit one another with lathis
In a bizarre turn of events, two jawans of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) of Uttar Pradesh Police exchanged many rounds of lathis just outside the Indira Gandhi Pratisthan where Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was addressing a meeting in the state capital.

The jawans, head constable Mukul Chandra Yadav and Constable Sunil Dikshit were caught on camera chasing each other on a sidewalk and hitting each other with lathis. One of them even sustained severe head injuries and was seen bleeding profusely.

The cops, according to media reports, were deployed for the security of the CM who was addressing a meeting there. After he left the venue, the cops started hitting each other. The reasons are not known as of now.

Raj Kumar Vishwakarma, IG, Law & Order, Lucknow said, “The clash started after VIPs left the venue and they two had dispute while they were on duty. We informed SSP Lucknow who also arrested both of them. They are injured and case will be registered against them and will be sent to the jail. Both are also going to be suspended and strict action will be taken against them.”

Both cops belong to PAC which is used for the extra security. UP police also ordered inquiry into the matter. Uttar Pradesh government is already notorious for bad law and order situation, and incidents like these only add to the infamy.
