According to reports emanating from Kabul- considering the location of the suicide explosion, it can be easily assumed, the deadly blast was planned to rip through Indian embassy. The deadly blast killed 12 and injured atleast 80.
A POWERFULL bomb explosion near Indian embassy in Afghanistan capital Kabul has killed at least 12 people, while more than 80 have been severely injured. The explosion took place today (October 8), around 0825 local time (0353 GMT). According to an eye witness, the explosion most probably was the handiwork of Taliban suicide bomber who are against peace and want their own regime to govern the nation in accordance to the Islamic law.
Indian high commissioner to Afghanistan Jayant Prasad told media persons that Indian staff at the embassy is safe and except minor injuries, nobody has suffered any serious wound. But he added some portion of the building housing Indian embassy has been damaged by the deadly suicide explosion, those injured are ITBP security personnel who were guarding Indian embassy at the time of explosion and received shrapnel from the suicide bomb explosion.
According to reports emanating from Kabul, considering the location of the suicide explosion-it can be easily assumed, the deadly blast was planned to rip through Indian embassy, however, may be due to stringent security suicide bomber triggered the blast somewhat away from Indian embassy.
In a similar incident in July 2008, a deadly suicide attack killed 41 people including a senior IFS officer and defence attaché, leaving Indian embassy in a heap of rubble.
