U-19 WC winner Harmeet Singh says Tendulkar, Dravid his role models
The President of Punjabi Global Foundation Gurpreet Kaur Chadha and President Sardar Singh Suri of Singh Sabha Gurudwara, 4 bunglow, Mumbai, welcomed Harmeet Singh, and gave him a trophy on behalf of the foundation. At the felicitation Harmeet said family support and good coordination among team members was why the team won the Under-19 World Cup in Australia.
HARMEET SINGH who emerged one of the most economical bowlers in the tour bowled tight overs in the finals against Australian team and just gave away 36 runs in his 10 over spell. While in the semifinal match against the Kiwis he picked up two crucial wickets at the cost of 30 runs in his 10 over. In the nail biting contest against Pakistan he gave away just 20 runs and bagged 1 wicket.
He has also drew attention of many great cricketers. The Australian legendary cricketer Ian Chappell claims that with the Indian cricket team captain Unmukt Chand, as well as Harmeet Singh have the potential to make it in the senior cricket team.
It is to be noted that U-19 cricket team brought laurel to the nation after clinching the
world cup recently concluded in Australia. Harmeet Singh was welcomed with the bursting of crackers before the Gurudwara. Soon after he headed towards the Gurudwara to bow his head at Guru Granth Sahib and seeks blessings.
Replying to a question he said, "It counts when you and your family is given a VIP treatment, and it feels good receiving this respect. When I was in Australia, I didn’t think it was such an huge achievement, but the response I am getting here makes me feel like that."
