Udaan review: A movie about chasing dreams
The new age script by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap brings the era of freedom and chasing dreams which is mainly aimed at the younger city population who will be able to connect with the plot better.

UDAAN AS the title rightly suggests, is a film based on breaking the rules, chasing dreams after having a series of misendeavours in a boarding school. Starring Rajat Barmecha and Ronit Roy in the lead, the movie revolves around the hard hitting relationship the father son duo. Being a young blood as he is, who aspires to become what he has dreamt of and an authoritarian father, who foils his bid to make way for himself, this movie is recommended for parents and children alike.

The tough times for the son starts when he comes back home in the small steel city, Jamshedpur. Rohan (played by Barmecha) expelled by his school authorities for watching inappropriate and explicit content, comes to the town with four other classmates who also have been chucked out for the same reason. Back home, much to his shock and surprise, he finds out that he has got a step brother whom he cannot stand, a father who wants his son to pursue engineering although Rohan wants to become a writer. His dreams come to a standstill when he is forcefully made to work in his father's small steel factory. His association with his brother improves after a series of incidents which gets them closer and against the Hitler of a dad.

Amit Trivedi's music is already making a place for itself up on the charts and this movie is expected to make the same impact that in 1959 400 Blows did for the French cinema.
