Udaipur to host six-day training of master trainers on multi-grade teaching
The cascade model of training consisting, resource persons, mater trainers and teachers has been worked out. The master trainers will be training around 1500 teachers in three-phases. A teacher support system will be put in place so as to ensure transfer of training to classroom in the right way.

A six-day residential training for 60 master trainers for the teachers of Maa-Bari Kendras for tribal children of Rajasthan functioning in multi-grade setting is going to be held from February 8 to 13 in Udaipur. The training is being conducted by Jaipur-based NGO, Centre for Unfolding Learning Potentials, and supported by UNICEF and Tribal Development Department of Rajasthan.

Prior to the event, four key resource persons produced a module and held a preparatory meeting. The training will consist of demonstrations, group work and presentations for first three days. It will be followed by another three days of workshop mode for learning material production and practice in holding training sessions.

It is said multi-grade training requires a lot material production for group work and self-learning to free the teacher to attend two or more classes simultaneously. Accordingly, the training programme has been organized.

Multi-grade teaching has been seen as viable strategy for small schools as well as an innovation for mono-grade schools at primary level wherein a teacher is suppose to teach all the subjects. A combination of micro-learning and multi-level learning with self-pacing at primary school has resulted into quality education inform research studies and action research by teachers.
