The Bihari character of Alia Bhatt and open letter to the actress

An open letter slamming the Bihari character of Alia Bhatt in the film 'Udta Punjab' is all around internet. Actually, a letter that went viral in no time, backlashes the actress for stereotyping Biharis. Well, we cannot even blame the writer as the girl who has penned the hard hitting letter has strongly made her point!

Alia, who claims to have put in lots of effort to look real and flawless as a Bihari in the film, is seen wearing tattered clothes in the trailer and frequently uses some abusive language. Well, that's what does not go well with the writer of the open letter who is also a Bihari and does not feel that the actress has done Justice with the character. The writer thinks, this is not how a Bihari looks or behaves and the actress has just stereotyped the character. Here, you can read the letter:

Alia's response on social media:

The actress who has also received plenty of appreciation for her Bihari character in 'Udta Punjab', did not shy away from responding to the open letter. Recently, Alia posted a picture on Twitter containing a strong message. The picture reads: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, and a social media overreaction."

Although it is not clear whether the actress has reacted on the same viral open letter, but the fans and media are seeing it as her response only. Here's what she had posted:

Shahid Kapoor's character is inspired by Honey Singh?

Reportedly, Shahid Kapoor's character in the film Udta Punjab' is based on the ace Punjabi singer and rapper Honey Singh. Although, the filmmakers have officially denied any such claims, a source from the team of Udta Punjab told DNA, "The whole cult of the wild raunchy Punjabi rock star was spearheaded by Yo Yo Honey Singh. Toh kahin na kahin usski chabbi to aani hi hai. I'd say Shahid plays a much wilder and far more aggressive version of Yo Yo. It's a wild character who indulges in rampant substance abuse."

The much-loved singer Honey Singh's career was on top when reports of him being in a rehabilitation center in Chandigarh appeared. But, later the rapper who is believed to be on steroids left the glam industry for a while after Shah Rukh Khan allegedly slapped him in front of all b-town celebs.

Now, if we follow the plot of the film 'Udta Punjab', Shahid's character of a rockstar Tomy Singh is also at the peak of his career when he gets tangled in the drug controversy.

Now, how much similarity both reel and real characters ensure will be clear only with time, but so far both the characters seems to have enough resemblance with each other.
