United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) has appealed its leaders, who are in jail, not dilute the cause of sovereignty of Assam by taking it out of the agenda of discussion with the Union government.
THE UNITED Liberation Front of Assam has said that there is no alternative to sovereignty of Assam and appealed to its jailed leaders not to give up the demand of sovereignty, as per a press statement.
It said that if the outfit gives up the demand it will mean, bowing down before the enemy.
The outfit reminded its jailed leaders that more than 12000 youths have sacrificed their lives fighting for sovereignty and their sacrifice should not go in vain.
ULFA also said in the statement that the Government of India will not be able to finish off the struggle by keeping them in jail as South Africa could not finish the struggle of Nelson Mandela by keeping him in jail for 27 years.
The press release was signed by self-styled lieutenant of the ULFA, Anu Buragohain, who is a member of the central publicity wing of the outfit.
