Unfortunate killing of DSP: Over-generosity of UP government for political benefits?
It refers to the conflict in the family of slain Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Zia-ul-Haq of Uttar Pradesh on getting government-service to his five family-members. After-effect of over-generosity shown by the UP government on the matter may set wrong trends for such unfortunate incidents.

Instead of arresting and punishing the key culprit because he is a political-heavyweight, UP government tried to make a political balance by being over-generous by announcing Rs fifty lakh compensation, double the pension and government-service to five family members of the slain DSP.

Such over-generosity has now made the family demanding government service to eight family members, and the demand may increase. Even compensation of Rs twenty lakh each and government service to a family member of each of the other victims apart from many other facilities at the cost of public-exchequer was above what is normally provided in such unfortunate incidents.

UP government should make it clear if such hefty compensations will be a permanent feature for future in such unfortunate incidents, or it is a one-time matter for ensuring political gains from both warring sides in fight amongst rival groups at Kunda. It seems that such over generosity in compensation to affected families is to prevent their main demand for arrest of Raja Bhaiyya, support of whom is also a political necessity for UP government for an eye on Thakur votebank.
