Tiger Woods has withdrawn from the US Open as he's not fit enough to compete against the elite golfers of the world. Though he expects to be fit for another AT&T National scheduled in June 30.
IT WAS through Tiger Wood’s twitter account that the world came to know about his withdrawal from the US open, which is scheduled to start on June 16. He has suffered injuries in his left knees and Achilles, with the latter giving him more problems. He would be missing the chance to fight for the title, for the first time in a span of 17 years.

On his website, tigerwoods.com, he said "I am extremely disappointed that I won't be playing in the U.S. Open, but it's time for me to listen to my doctors and focus on the future, I was hopeful that I could play, but if I did, I risk further damage to my left leg. My knee and Achilles tendon are not fully healed. I hope to be ready for AT&T National, the next two majors and the rest of the year." He would be missing the US open major title for the first time in a span of 17 years. Though, he expects to recover in time for the AT&T National starting on June 30.The last time Woods won a major title was the 2008 US open. Woods has been striving towards breaking the long standing record of Jack Nicklaus, who has won it the majors 18 times, and Tiger is just four behind.
With a dip in his ranking many experts are also of the view that his career ‘may’ be coming to a close. He retaliated in one of the press conferences about this news by saying that “his injury was not the doomsday that some of the press members are writing about." It would be hard to rule out Tiger anytime.
