Recently a cable operator in Chandni Chowk area of Delhi removed popular news-channels from prime position. The situation is such that these channels can now been seen only through the set-top boxes.
GOVERNMENT SHOULD take some effective steps whereby cable TV operators are prevented from indulging in the unfair practice of not showing some popular TV news channels because they are not being paid money. However, the channels which are lesser known are placed in prime position and given undue importance as they have handsomely compensated the cable operators.

A large majority of the people living in the area, however, do not use the set-top boxes, they are suffering due to the practices of the cable operators. . Since most of viewers are not aware of such money-generating tactics of cable TV operators, they bear it silently without registering any protest.It is important that there should be some effective provision to punish operators indulging in this unhealthy practice. The viewers have every right to watch the channel they want as they pay for the same and the cable operators must not act as a censor and decide what the people watch and what they should not.
