Union Minister Arun Jaitley arrives in Kerala to meet kin of slain RSS worker
After political tensions erupted in Kerala over lynching of RSS workers, Union Minister and Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Sunday met family members of slain RSS worker who was recently murdered in political violence in the state.

According to PTI, Jaitley met kin of slain RSS man at his house located in Sreekaryam near Thiruvananthapuram. Amid increasing number of lynching cases involving RSS workers in the state, 34-year-old Rajesh was killed last week allegedly by a gang with links to Kerala's ruling party CPI (M).

After meeting Rajesh's family members, Jaitley censured the brutal attack while addressing a meet and said that even an 'enemy of a country doesn't do this'.

During his visit, Jaitley was accompanied by Kerala BJP President Kummanam Rajasekharan and some state BJP leaders. Meanwhile, they also met another RSS leader, Jayaprakash who was brutally injured in an attack during a clash between RSS workers and CPM leaders.

Jailey's visit in Kerala comes after the BJP raised questions regarding rising lynching cases targeted at RSS workers in the parliament claiming that "Kerala has become a killing field". The issue was raised in both houses of parliament by BJP top leaders expressing their deep concerns over the issue of political killings in Kerala.

Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought a detailed report from the state government over the political violence in the state within four weeks. The commission also directed the state government to take necessary steps to stop incidents of lynching.

While taking cognizance over the political violence in the state, the Governor of Kerala, P Sathasivam summoned Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and State Police Chief Loknath Behera to Raj Bhavan on July 30, 2017 and sought a complete explanation over the rising political violence and lynching cases in the state.
