United Kingdom to host 31st International Conference on Sindh
The 31st International Conference on Sindh, hosted by World Sindhi Congress (WSC) is going to held at University of Westminster, Harrow Campus, United Kingdom, on 28 and 29 September this year.

The WSC works for advocacy on Political and Civil Rights; Sindhi National Self-Determination; Indigenous Rights; Environmental Justice; Peace and Security, and Sindhi Diaspora. The organisation claims that they are 'engaged in advocacy of and education about the human rights needs of Sindh and Sindhis'.

According to the WSC, "Sindh is a nation of Pakistan with a unique mix of different religions and cultures. The Sindhi people and land of their nation are used by the Pakistani government while the Sindhi people suffer of starvation, unemployment, and the kidnapping of their young girls. The leaders and activists who try to speak out against this suffering are kidnapped and killed themselves. The World Sindhi Congress seeks to educate the public about this suffering and advocate for the human rights of the Sindhi nation."

It is said that the WSC was founded as a nonprofit civil society organization to give a voice and presence to the Sindhi community across the world whose rich heritage and culture should be preserved and honored. Consequently, the WSC advocates the human rights of all Sindhis.

Recently, the WSC held a Seminar on Sindh on 30th April in Washington DC at University Club DC. The title of the seminar was 'Rights, Security & Development in Sindh: Realities for Pakistan's Southern Province', informs their website. "The overwhelming message of the seminar was that Pakistan is a security state, currently with an absolute control of all policy and institutions, that has resulted in unprecedented violations of human rights of Sindhi people and other oppressed nations, Balochs and Pashtoons, and threat to the regional and global security," it is reported.
