United Nations Industrial Development Report 2010
United Nations Industrial Development Organization's (UNIDO) Industrial Development report is out with a list of the top ten countries in industrial manufacture. This is the only authoritative data of its kind internationally.
THE UNITED Nation Industrial Development Organization has released research report for the 2010 Industrial Development Report. The organization’s primary object is the promotion and acceleration of industrial growth in developing countries.

UNIDO believes that competitive and environmentally sustainable industry has a crucial role to play in accelerating economic growth, reducing poverty and achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The Year Book of industrial statistics 2010 provides internationally comparable data for major indicators of manufacturing activity.

The data can be used to analyze patterns of growth and related long term trends. The books present the recent data from national industrial surveys of more than 70 countries in detail. The US has become the first largest industrial manufacturer in the world, China stands second, Japan third, and Germany took the fourth rank and followed by France, United Kingdom, Italy and Russia. International year book of Industrial statistics 2010 mentioned the developing countries like India and Brazil also in its list of top 10 Industrial Manufacturers globally at 9th and 10th positions respectively.

China’s share of the global total of manufacturing value was about 15.6%, a little higher than Japan which is 15.4%; United States stands top at 19%. The three countries US, China and Japan produce half of the world’s manufacturing output. According to the report the effect of the recent financial crises on Industrial growth was severe for industrialized countries.

UNIDO’s International Year book of Industrial statistics 2010 is the only International publication to provide economists, planners, policy makers and business people with worldwide statistics on current performance and trends in the manufacturing sector.
