United States to end analogue TV broadcasts in one go
US is all set to switch to digital signal transmission system in one go, Friday onwards. Authorities' decision of ending the analogue signal all together has resulted in a state of confusion and almost 2.2 million households are not ready for it
MILLIONS OF households in the United States are suffering through anxiety about, whether their television sets would survive this Friday (June 12), or not! Ever since the US authorities have decided to shift to digital system for television transmission across the nation in one go, a mad rush was seen at digital converter and television shops.

From past six decades, America was using the analogue system of TV signal transmission. The nationwide transition has resulted into a state of confusion, specially among elderly and low income households.

The government has, however, made necessary arrangements by providing $40 coupons to cover most of the cost of the Set Top Converter and has also set up demonstration camps in various cities.

According to reports in US media, several NGOs were also helping elderly citizens in fixing the converters. New users were very satisfied by the digital signal, reports said.
But according to the Federal Communications Commission, there are still 2.2 million households, which have made no preparations. These houses will have to witness a blank screen after Friday.
