Universal programmer handles many different devices
Leading provider of embedded development tools GAO Embedded has announced the release of its high-performance universal programmer which is capable of supporting more than 8000 devices and providing optimum programming for each individual device.
GAO EMBEDDED has announced the release of its high-performance universal programmer which is capable of supporting more than 8000 devices and providing optimum programming for each individual device. It is capable of handling many different devices including programmable read-only memory (PROM), programmable logic devices (PLD), flash microcontrollers and serial or parallel memory. This well-designed universal programmer supports most compilers in JEDEC format including ABEL, CUPL, PALASM, TANGO PLD, CAD PLD, PLD designer and ISDATA.

This upgraded universal programmer, model VP380, features a high programming speed, test vector capability, multi-array fuse map editor, device insertion and poor-pin-contact check. It automatically identifies the manufacturer and type of EPROMs and TTL/CMOS logic IC. In auto-run mode, the optimised universal programmer starts programming automatically upon detection of chip insertion. It includes a 48-pin ZIF socket and supports 8-pin to 48-pin DIP package devices and manages 16 and 32-bit word split. This practical programmer provides universal DIP, PLCC, QFP, TSOP, PSOP, SOIC, SSOP and SDIP adapters. In addition, it runs under Windows 2000, NT, 9x, ME and XP operation systems.
