Unnecessary controversy on deputy air-chief's statement
President Pratibha Patil's plan to ride in a fighter-plane has been unnecessarily compared with the statement of deputy chief of air staff against allowing women as pilots of fighter planes by the media and has created an unnecessary controversy.
MEDIA HAS created unnecessary controversy by comparing President Pratibha Patil’s planning a ride in fighter-plane with the statement of deputy chief of air staff against allowing women as pilots of fighter planes. Pratibha Patil will be travelling only as a passenger and not as pilot taking the flight.
Nature has developed several unique body-physiques in women which do not permit them to perform all jobs which men can do. Piloting super-speed fighter planes is one such job. Women must get equal rights and opportunities with men in our present male-dominated society. But asking equality at all places where women can and should not be expected to perform like men, is definitely against even their own interest.
