The regional parties penomenon has come to the fore after one party rule of cngress failed to deliver goods.This country was never one, It has no. of castes,tribes etc.To fulfill the aspirations of different regions no. of states were created as administrative units.In a democracy we hve to create space for the regional aspirations. In a democracy these help to vent out their feelings and keeps the democracy always working. In UP, People have taken the charge themselves and shown the door to unwanted regional parties in the recent general elections. In Maharashtra it is a question of oneman upmanship between two cousin brothers and also MNS chief wants to establish his separate entity. The incidents like these are abrration and help making the regional parties responsible. Moreover ,we have to go through this transitory phase,before our democracy matures.
