US director Kevin Smith kicked off airline, blames his wide ass
US director Kevin Smith, 39 was kicked out of Southwest Airlines flight in California on charges of being too overweight to fly. He blamed his 'wide ass' for being the culprit.

US FILMMAKER Kevin Smith, 39 was kicked out of Southwest Airlines flight in California on charges of being too overweight to fly. He blamed his “wide ass” for being the culprit. “Totally cool, but fair warning folks: If you look like me, you may be ejected from Southwest Air,” he said on Twitter.

The Hollywood director who has over a dozen films up his credit said that he was forced to leave a flight from Oakland to Burbank after the flight's pilot determined Smith's weight was not in compliance with the airline's policies.

Smith however insisted that there was no need for him to buy another ticket and that he was able to lower both armrests.

“I'm way fat, but I'm not there just yet,” Smith said without giving what his actual weight is. “I broke no regulation.”

Southwest Airlines requires passengers to be able to sit in a chair with at least one armrest down. If the passenger cannot, they must purchase an additional seat or exit the aircraft to make alternative travel arrangements.

The director joked with fans, including one who encouraged him to start his own airline. "More room for everyone! If they build it, I'd certainly fly it. 'Fly the Flabby Skies!'" he wrote.

Smith also mocked "The SouthwestAir Diet. How it works: you're publicly shamed into a slimmer figure. Crying the weight right off has never been easier!"

After landing in Southern California, Smith wrote, "I've landed in Burbank. Don't worry: wall of the plane was opened & I was airlifted out while Richard Simmons supervised"
