US Open 2011: Venus Williams Vs Sabine Lisicki
Venus Williams and Sabine Lisicki will battle it out in the second round of the US Open, which is scheduled to be played later today. Both these players walk into the second round of the competition after a comprehensive victory in their first round match
VENUS WILLIAMS, a former Grand slam Champion who has been unseeded in the US Open will face Sabine Lisicki from Germany in the second round of the competition later today at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. Lisciki won her first round match against Alona Bondarenko from Ukraine in straight sets. She won her match where the score read 6-3, 6-3. Whereas, Venus won her match against Vesna Dolonts with a score line, which read 6-4, 6-3.

A tougher test lies ahead for both the players in the competition now. The big serving girl from Germany, Sabine Lisicki must be on top of her game, if she is to defeat the former grand slam winner.  She is a player who always plays well in the US Open as she receives full support from the local crowd. She might be under pressure to perform as well. The crowd seated at the stadium is surely going to cheer the local gal, Venus, irrespective of the outcome.

Sabine Lisicki has been in good form throughout the season as she also managed to win two WTA titles in the season so far. It is her game that has been doing all the talking as she has been appreciated for his efforts on the court. She has to be very wise while playing against Venus who has bags of experience by her side. Lisicki and Venus have a head to head record of a single victory against their name, as they have only played two matches so far between themselves.

It could be a game where both players should use their big serves in a proper manner along with their powerful ground strokes. The player who plays well on the day will turn out to be victorious.
