US shines on first day of Ryder Cup
The US came out all guns blazing on the opening day of the 2012 Ryder Cup, and has taken a 5-3 lead over the Europeans It was the debutants from the US who put up an impressive display. of golf.

THE RYDER Cup is one of the most awaited events in the golf arena, which takes place once in two years. The golf tournament takes place between the US and Europe, and this year it is taking place at the Medinah Country club, Illinios. The US came out top on the first day (5-3). The championship is scheduled for September 28, 29 and 30 2012.

The US debutants stepped up a gear with an impressive performance on the course. And out of all, it was Keegan Bradley who made heads turn with a good display on the golf course. But, it was not only the American debutants who were having a good day, as Nicolas Colsaerts, the Belgium golfer helped Europe to restore some pride. But, the hero of the day has to be Keegan Bradley, who looked in prime form along with other US golfers who were victorious.

The European side has not lost hope and still thinks that they can pull it off. Why not, with the quality of players that their team posses. Justin Rose, the European player said, "There's a long way to go in this tournament. There's ebbs and flows. Obviously, there's momentum for the U.S. team right now, but that could all swing back in our favour tomorrow," reported website theprovince. The second day is very important for both the teams, especially for Europe.

Other American golfers such as Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell were also up there with their performance. But, one of the disappointing performances during the event was Tiger Woods, who was far from his best. If he would have come up with a great performance then it could have been an icing on the cake for the US team.

With such display by the former world number 1, his selection for the second day hangs in balance and may be benched. But, there were glimpses of brilliance, which was just not enough to help the US team enjoy a major advantage when they start the second day battle.
