THE US are living in fear as around 50 Imams and religious leaders have said that they would attack the US with jihad, which can bring the entire country to a chaos if it turns out to be successful. The reaction of these leaders and Imams must have been brought about after Chief Admiral Mike Mullen’s talked about the Haqqani Network’s with the ISI. The comment has indeed not gone well with the religious leaders of Pakistan.

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Hina Rabbani Khar, has also come out in the open and said that her country does not have any role to play in the terror attacks. She wants to eliminate terrorism from the face of the earth. She had to defend her country stating that ISI was not involved with the Haqqani network, which is an insurgent group with close alliance with Taliban.
We do not know how serious the threats may be towards the US, but some experts are saying that the US should take these jihad threats called by the religious leaders in a serious manner, as it is not a secret that the religious leaders in Pakistan want to harm the US. They have been stating this for a long time now, which always puts the US on alert. They just need a spark to threaten the US and they have openly challenged the America this time. It is indeed a ‘holy war’ as many people call it, between the US and Pakistan.
With this jihadist threat from religious leaders, relations between the US and Pakistan is not looking in great shape. It is time for political heads of both the countries to be on their toes in the coming days.
