The inaugural event is expected to be illuminating as it makes a record spending of more than $40 million. It is virtually for the first time in the history of winter Olympics that such a huge amount is earmarked for an inaugural ceremony. It will be the second most expensive when it gets compared with overall Olympics events. Only Beijing Olympics 2008 was more expensive than Vancouver.
More than 55,000 people are supposed to be there in Vancouver to watch the opening ceremony. For those who are unable to be there on sight to watch the event can tune in NBC in the U.S. and CTV in Canada. Besides, several websites will be providing live telecast of the event. In the Vancouver Winter Olympics that will last up to 28th of this month, fifteen sporting items will be taken place. 216 athletes from the U.S.A will take part in fifteen sporting categories at the Olympics. Apart from Opening ceremony, today Vancouver will witness Ski Jumping – NH Individual Qualification Round. Coming days will have a string of sporting items.
