Vedanta Aluminium Limited has been awarded Frame CSR and Think Odisha Leadership Award 2010 for 'Best Community Development Programme', on the occasion of Interface Asia CSR Forum 2010.

VEDANTA ALIMUNIUM Limited has been awarded Frame CSR and Think Odisha Leadership Award 2010 for "Best Community Development Programme”, on the occasion of Interface Asia CSR Forum 2010, held at Bhubaneshwar on 13th August 2010.

Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, Vedanta Aluminium Limited, Lanjigarh received the award on behalf of the company from Shri Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Orissa.

The award is a reorganization for Vedanta’s consistent effort for improving the quality of lives of the community around its operations, said Dr. Mukesh Kumar, after receiving the award. During the conference, he also made a presentation about Vedanta’s approach towards Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Empowerment programs in Lanjigarh.

Sanjay Pattnaik, Vice – President and Head of HR&CSR also informed the company’s community engagement strategy. He shared few cases studies on successful CSR initiatives.

As a responsible corporate citizen, Vedanta Aluminium Limited has been taking up several community development initiatives in the areas of Health, Education, Livelihood and infrastructure for people around its Refinery at Lanjigarh and Smelter at Jharsuguda. The initiatives has significantly impacted the lives of the people in its periphery area and contributed for their socio-economic empowerment.
