Veer, My Name is Khan, Ishqiya, Teen Patti: Preview
Movie buffs have much to look forward to in 2010. From 'Veer' to 'Teen Patti', great actors and big banners are lined up to entertain the audiences all the year through. Here's a list of top five scheduled releases.
VEER-PERHAPS is one most awaited film of the year and it is brainchild of Salman Khan. Directed by Anil Sharma of ‘Gadar-ek-prem katha’ fame, Veer also sees the debut of new Salman Khan find Zarin Khan. Veer is an epic saga and taking center stage is the brave heart Veer (Salman Khan). Veer is a period film with an epic feel. The story is set in the era of 1875 and is based on the love story of a warrior “Veer” and his clan of the fearless ‘Pindari’ warriors of the 19th century.

My Name is Khan- The magical onscreen pair of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol will be back with Karan Johar’s “My Name Is Khan” which is eagerly awaited. It is about a Muslim suffering from ‘Asperger syndrome’ who is arrested as a suspected terrorist post 9/11. Rizwan Khan (Tanay Chheda) is a Muslim child who grew up with his mother (Zarina Wahab) in Borivali, Mumbai. Rizwan has ‘Asperger syndrome’ (a form of high functioning autism complicating socialization).

Ishqiya-The film has been produced by Raman Maroo and Vishal Bharadwaj. It has been directed by Abhishek Choubey and the cast includes Arshad Warsi, Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah. ‘Ishqiya’ is a romance with crime, passion and suspense added to give it enough masala to keep the audience glued. Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah are playing key roles in this movie. Vidya Balan plays the role of a village girl with no make up and no signs of glamour. She will be seen uttering dialogues in this movie with village slang. The situations in the plot lead the characters to experience love creeping into their lives in the most unexpected manner.

Road to Sangam-It is a film about ‘Gandhian values’ and principles. It speaks about the complexity of Hindu-Muslim relations amidst the growing menace of terrorism. It tries to delve into the psyche of Muslim community and tries to find out what are their feelings, thoughts, apprehensions and insecurities.

Teen Patti- The reason to watch this film is Sir Ben Kingsley, who is acting in an Indian film after “Gandhi” which was in 1982. It is directed by Yadav and also includes Amitabh Bachchan along with R. Madhavan and Raima Sen. Kingsley acts as narrator of this film. It tells the story of two mathematicians and five bright students played by Madhavan, Siddharth Kher, and newcomers Dhruv Ganesh, Vaibhav Talwar and Shraddha Kapoor, for high-stake gambling, but with a cause.
