Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro escapes unhurt in drone attack
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was attacked during a program yesterday in which he survived after being saved by the National Guards.

Maduro was delivering a speech at the celebration of completion of 81 years of the National Guards in the capital, Karacus, when some explosives came down.

After this, he stopped his speech in the middle and Caracas' Army immediately took the President to a safe place. The government said that seven soldiers were injured in this incident.

Nicholas Maduro, said on the official channel after the incident, "The attack was done to kill me, they tried to kill me today." He further said, "There was an explosion in front of me."

The president said that a few people had been arrested in connection with the attack and investigations were on.

Maduro attributed this attack to neighbouring country Colombia and its unknown "financiers" based in America.

However, at the same time, many of his officials have blamed Venezuela's opposition camp for the attack. A Colombian official refuted the allegations while talking to AFP on the condition of anonymity. He said that the allegations of Maduro were "baseless".

According to the photographs shown on Venezuela's official television, the soldiers of the National Guard of the country came in immediately and spread all over the area to save the President.

Although no drone was seen on television, only the bodyguards of Maduro formed a ballistic shield in front of them to save and then suddenly the transmission was stopped.

In the meanwhile, Information Minister George Rodriguez told AP that "many blasts were heard at 5 o'clock at 41 minutes local time".

It has been clearly found in the investigation that the explosive material was deployed through a drone. At the same time, three local people said that the explosion happened due to bursting of a gas tank in the premises.

On the other hand, the responsibility of the conspiracy of plotting to "murder" Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro has been taken by a suspected rebel group that includes Venezuelan civilians and the army.

The group said in a statement issued on social media, "Keeping such a government in power is against the honour of the army, which has not only forgotten the Constitution, but has made government offices a way to become rich."
