Venus Williams saved her sister Serena's life
Serena Williams has been saved by her sister Venus from a life threatening injury which could have completely put an end to her career and may be her life too. But it was advice that Venus gave to Serena that saved her condition from getting worse.
WILLIAMS SISTERS, Serena (younger) and Venus (elder) have played a number of competitive matches against each other, and have out played one another several times. Both the sisters' love for one another is known to all - on and off the court. But, Venus took it to the next level when she saved her sister Serena’s life through an advice over the phone. Serena was treated with an emergency, when the doctors found out that there was a blood clot in one of her lungs which was dangerous.

In an interview to Reuters, Venus said, “I remember I was in the gym and Serena called me and said 'my foot's swelling'. My physio and I were both there and I said 'you need to look up online on symptoms of blood clots”.

Serena took in her sister’s advice and browsed the internet to find information about it. It was at this moment that Serena realised she had got lots of symptoms, which were dangerous if she did not take immediate care of it. She was then treated for a blood clot in her lungs, which surprised Venus as Serena was very healthy to have affected in such a way.

After surviving this scare, Serena will be making a comeback from her injury (blood clot) at the Eastbourne grass court in England. It would help her in getting into shape for the most awaited grand slam, Wimbledon, where she has always been a favourite to lift the title. It is a different story all together after her life threatening blood clot injury.

"I definitely have a new perspective on life; I'm really honoured to have a chance to walk out on the court, because three and a half months ago I didn't think I would have that chance again,” said Serena Williams to CNN. But, now, one hopes, she will be able to replicate her past form in the upcoming tournaments?
