Vice-President, Haryana's Governor and CM praises freedom fighter Ranbir Singh but forgot to mention Shaheed Udham Singh
India's Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Haryana's Governor Jagannath Pahadia and Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda used every adjective available in the dictionary to laud the contribution of late Ch. Ranbir Singh, father of Haryana's CM Hooda in freedom struggle, in making of the Constitution and upliftment of farmers and the downtrodden.
They were speaking during the Ranbir Singh Bicentenary Memorial lecture organised by Ranbir Singh Chair of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak on the birthday of Ch. Ranbir Singh. But they even did not make a passing reference to Saheed Udham Singh, whose birthday also falls on the same day.

Although it was thrice announced from the stage that it was a happy occasion that birthday of Shaheed Udham Singh also falls on the same day. S.S.Chahal, Vice-Chancellor of the Varsity made passing reference to Udham Singh.

Although advertisements were issued in various newspapers on behalf of public relations department remembering the martyrdom of Udham Singh but no function was organised by the Haryana Govt. on this occasion. Notably Hooda often proudly declares that his Govt. has taken a number of steps for the welfare of freedom fighters and martyrs and to keep their memory alive.

Saheed-e-Azam Udham Singh had  killed Michael Dower in England to avenge the killings of thousands of innocent Sikhs and Hindus at Jallianwalla Baagh in Amritsar by British police. Remains of Udham Singh, who had  changed his name to Ram Mohamad Azad, symbolizing Hindu, Muslim and Sikh unity were exhumed and repatriated to India. A casket at Delhi airport was received by Shankar Dayal Sharma, Giani Zail Singh and Indira Gandhi.
Governor Jagannath Pahadia while describing Ranbir Singh as a patriot, social reformer, educationist and true Gandhian went to the extent that he was happy that his son Bhupinder Hooda is developing the state following footsteps of Ranbir Singh. Forgetting his constitutional post, Pahadia while praising Hooda said that although it was not his subject but  people should come to Haryana to see the development done under Hooda so that rumours about development could be checked.
Hooda recalled the contribution of Ranbir Singh in building Bhakra dam although it is believed that he had  only received, then Prime Minster Jawaharlal Nehru in his capacity as Irrigation minister on the occasion of inaugural function.
Vice-President Hamid Ansari while describing Ranbir Singh as great freedom fighter, committed Gandhian, Parliamentarian, able administrator, popular leader committed to welfare of masses crossed all limits of sycophancy stating that he was happy that Ranbir Singh's distinguished son Bhupinder Hooda and grandson Deepender Hooda, who was even not present on the occasion, are keeping the family's tradition of public service alive. On this occasion he also launched three books on Ranbir Singh.
Hundreds of students belonging to the student's wing of Indian National Lokdal staged demonstration outside the venue of function and courted arrest in protest against irregularities in recruitment of Haryana Civil Service Officers and alleged wastage of University funds for boosting image of Ranbir Singh.
