Vice President Naidu receives UNESCO Education Report on Children with Disabilities, stresses inclusive education
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu received the report 'State of the Education Report for India 2019- Children with Disabilities' on July 10 and stressed the importance of inclusive education, stated a release. He felt that report would provide useful inputs and India always believed in adopting the best practices from across the globe.

The report was presented by a delegation of UNESCO led by its director Eric Falt. The Vice President termed the report timely since the GOI was in the process of formulating its National Education Policy-2019. He said that education of children with disabilities was receiving special attention of the government and the country was steadily moving towards inclusive and equitable quality education, reported the release.

One of the recommendations is the amendments in to Right to Education Act to align with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act by incorporating specific concerns of children with disabilities.
