Vice Prez Ansari releases book on 'traditional cultures', expresses need to diffuse cultural boundaries
While releasing the book `Relevance of Traditional Cultures for the Present and the Future' in Delhi, Vice-President M Hamid Ansari said that the culture shapes the way we see the world and it has the capacity to bring about the change of attitudes needed to ensure peace and sustainable development, stated an official release.

The released book titled `Relevance of Traditional Cultures for the present and the future' edited by Nalin Surie and K Raghunath, has been published jointly by India International Centre and Konark Publishers. The book is the outcome of a seminar held in 2014.

According to Ansari, traditions create and shape our collective identity that in turn shapes the individual, while the term 'cultural heritage' implies a shared bond with a community and it represents our identity as well as the bond to the past, to our present, and our future.

He expressed the need for diffusing the cultural boundaries by artists, writers, scientists, craftsmen and musicians by learning from each other.
