Vijay Mallya booed at India-South Africa Champions Trophy match with chants of 'chor, chor'
In an embarrassing situation for fugitive business tycoon Vijay Mallya, he was on Sunday booed at the India-South Africa Champions Trophy match by cricket fans who were heard shouting 'chor, chor' (thief, thief).

61-year-old Mallya has been living under a self-imposed exile after fleeing India in March 2016. His now defunct Kingfisher Airlines owes over Rs 9,000 crore to various banks.

The crowds outside the Oval cricket ground in London welcomed Vijay Mallya by shouting slogans, "Chor gaya chor (there goes the thief) and chor, chor (thief, thief),"among other chants.

However, as usual, Mallya looked unruffled by all this and quietly made his way to the Hospitality Box.

Last week too, social media had gone berserk after Mallya was spotted quietly watching the India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy tie at Edgbaston in Birmingham. He had come under severe criticism from the online community for living a life of luxury on people's money.
