Newly elected TRS MP from Medak must not have realized what it may cost to talk on such a controversial issue. The city police arrested Vijayashanthi in afternoon when she was on her way to her parliamentary constituency in Medak district. She allegedly made inflammatory remarks against the opponents of separate Telangana state during an election meeting at the TRS office on Wednesday. Vijayashanthi was remanded to 14 days judicial custody. Party leaders approached Andhra Pradesh High Court to avoid the remand and Court granted bail. Bypolls in 12 constituencies on July 27 must have triggered the sentiment of Vijayashanthi to exploit the issue in favor or disfavor. She must have leant the lesion of freedom of free speech with restrain.
Vijayashanthi started her political career in 1997 by joining the BJP. She became the secretary of BJP's Women's wing soon. She started her parliamentary march in 1999 against all odds against Sonia Gandhi but it derails because Sonia Gandhi left the Cuddapah constituency. Over ambitious Vijayashanthi started her own political party Talli Telengana which merged into TRS in January 2009. She gained popularity from the Silver screen but since she is focusing more on politics her movie appearances decreased. By 2004, she had stopped signing new films.
