Violence returns to Kashmir valley, four killed
Two more people were killed in the Amargarh area of Sopore town earlier on Friday as security forces opened fire as the mob tried to damage a portion of railway track.

THE ALREADY  tense situation in Kashmir worsened on Friday as fresh wave of violence engulfed the valley. Now, the total number of people killed in the recent clashes on Friday stands at four. The latest victim, Nazir Ahmad Mir, 23 was critically injured in Friday's violence in North Kashmir's Pattan town and died in the hospital late at night.
 
As per information, a group of protesters had set the Pattan police station on fire as baton charges and repeated shelling by tear gas smoke failed to keep them in check. The mob then attacked the policemen, who were standing outside and had to fire on the protesters in self defence, leading to fatal injuries. 
 
The other protesters, Adil Sheikh, 14, of Palhalan village and Nazir Ahmad Mir of Sheeri village also succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. The angry mob had felled trees on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway so as to prevent police enforcement from reaching Pattan town, which is about 30 kilometers from Srinagar.
 
The mob created havoc as they ransacked Potkhah police post and railway station. They also set two police buses and railway protection force hutments on fire.
 
Two more people were killed in the Amargarh area of Sopore town earlier on Friday as security forces opened fire as the mob tried to damage a portion of railway track.
 
In the largescale violence that hit Sirnagar, over 50 people have been injured and according to doctors at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura (SKIMS), three people who have been admitted with gunshots have been declared critical.
